Economic Sabotage

Operation Mildly Successful, Kept Secret (Some Agents Detained)

Ahead of a conference incoming within the next few months on the fate of Berlin, Stasi Agents successfully entered West Berlin with decent amounts counterfeit of money in tow. The amounts were nothing out of the ordinary, some of which were in old World War Two reichsmarks. Although replaced by the Deutschmark, some businesses (and 4 banks) still authorized it as legal tender. These Stasi agents then went on a shopping spree for things such as food, fuel and other basic necessities, some of these things some agents hadn't seen in a while. Although the agents were treated well, they still had some nostalgia over the West Berlinin foods. However it came to a quick close for most as when finally making their purchases, some of their tender was found to be counterfeit resulting in the arrest of some and the release of most with the basic excuse of "I didn't know that was counterfeit." One Stasi agent, however, was unlucky when he responded to the officer detaining him, "Tut mir lied, Offizier... ich wusste nicht, dass ich das nicht tun konnte." Naturally, the officer did not let him off with a warning and 4 agents were brought in for, not on crimes of espionage but for being involved in a counterfeit money scheme. 1 other fellow Stasi agent, attempting to maintain his cover-identity, was encouraged by officers to testify against one of the "suspects". He soon backed out and returned to the German Democratic Republic in personal shame. The mission was a mild success as most of the fake currency did get into circulation but the prices on the goods they were purchasing themselves remained decently stagnant.

Intelligence Gathering

Operation Successful, Failure to Maintain Secrecy

French DST agents have set their sights on a new prize of their own. Shifting their policies from that of the Algerian Civil War, they sent a detachment to focus more on these "Basque Separatists" to their mainland border. The Bureau sent agents out to successfully catalog a list of potential members and sympathizers with the group in Basque Territory and bordering lands, although these people's direct relations to the ETA are still in question, the surveillance was present nonetheless. To the real French Basque Separatists however, they came quick to realize that most of their soldierly members of their syndicates were being watched - closely. Unbeknownst to them, the DST was watching and waiting for them to step out of line so they could come in and quench their blood-lust by seeing those sympathizers in cuffs.

A Mean One >:( (Theft)

Operation Mild Success (Phase 1, Failure: Immediate Shift to Phase 2, Successful)

The Soviet Union, through a previous plan before, has begun transporting weapons and goods to the Democratic People's Republic of Vietnam. Naturally, one way to get there was through China. Upon crossing into China, the Soviets were met with a PLA escort to assist them on their path, one of which that was also sending goods to the DRV as well. The Chinese and Russian convoys went from checkpoint to checkpoint before coming across a railway station. Some PLA officers suggested to their fellow Communists, as good Communists do, that it may be faster if they used the rails to transport said goods down to Vietnam. This was refused and they went along their way, translators having soldiers befriend each other amicably. Everything was happy! Until it wasn't. All the while, the Chinese were cozying up to the Soviet Convoymen as the shipments went South, inspections being done on each vehicle at almost every single checkpoint to determine and locate which truck had what they were looking for in particular. Midway into China, a checkpoint officer finally found what he was looking for - RPG-7s. He alerted his fellow Chinese Communists, as good communists do, and some Chinese men in the convoy shifted to that truck in particular, ready for their plan. At this point, the convoy went on with more of the Chinese escorts and soldiers starting to drive the Russian trucks as, along the way, they were getting the Soviets drunk off of Chinese alcohol so much until they were near completely incapacitated. It was at this point, in the middle of the road, a Chinese escort in the same truck transporting the RPG-7's 'absentmindedly' pushed off a crate holding a few dozen RPG-7's and then tossed off another crate of rockets off of the truck with a loud noise. Along the drive, the drunk Soviets in one truck heard a loud noise and, drunkenly, questioned their fellow Chinese Communist. "What was that?" 'Bump in road!' "What?" 'Bump in road!' "Okay..." The soldier then called it in on his radio, speaking in Mandarin on the location of where the "bump" in the road was located and the convoy went on without a worry, arriving at their destination with 50 RPG-7's short, nothing that was noticed. The PLA, however, quickly obtained this shipment of RPG's. Now in full possession of both rocket and missiles, although the rockets were a bit damaged, as was the wooden crate when it was kicked off at 48km/h from a moving truck.
